The Golden Hour

Many of you may or may not have heard of the “Golden Hour” of photography. Allow me to explain. Golden Hour is the time at which, sunset has not quite begun, but the warm, golden light of the sun casts a glittery shimmer across everything. It’s a light written about in fantasy, celebrated throughout time in paintings, and for photographers, is cherished. Alyson chose to shoot her bridals in the Woodlands, at Rob Fleming Park. The Masonry Lodge boasts stained equestrian doors, stone arches, and phenomenal supporting plants. Across the field is a picturesque lake with fountain and stone steps.

The Props Make The Bridals

While in the era of Pinterest, props can absolutely be overdone, Alyson and I had discussed an antique couch in particular for the shoot. The original plans fell through last minute. Enter Amber Mott, of Southern Chic Rentals to the rescue! She heard my plight, and had just the fix. The gorgeous fainting couch featured throughout is one of the many chic rentals they offer for weddings and events! I cannot recommend her any more highly than to say she was a God-Sent angel with a couch! And let’s not forget her mom, who came along to help us move it too and fro! She was a total asset too, along with Alyson’s mom! But seriously, if you need event rentals for your wedding, go see her and tell her I said Hey 🙂

Alyson supplied the Aggie shirt, bouquet of sunflowers, and her denim jacket. It was the little country touches that truly made this shoot hers. It was truly difficult to select favorites from this shoot. I don’t think I could select a single shot as the bridal that stands out above them all. Though I don’t know that I would be able to choose a favorite, be sure to comment below which one is yours if you can!
