Coffee. Like many good things, the working relationship between Kathy, David and myself began over a good cup of Starbucks. Kathy and I discussed upcoming wedding plans, what she had in mind for save the dates, engagement pictures and the life. I was enamored by her stories from college, and how they both met. In finding out that her and David were avid gamers, we decided that we absolutely had to include that aspect in the engagement session. Additionally, both graduated from Texas A&M (Gig ’em Aggies!), so we had to get at least one really good ring shot. Kathy had the idea to make the rings stand out more, by leaving them in color while we turned everything else black and white. It came out super! I wanted to keep the props simple, not detract from the session and it’s romantic feel. I brought out the chalkboard that was used, and they brought video game controllers from their respective consoles of choice. It was playful, romantic, and most of all it represented them both so well. We had a blast shooting, and I cannot wait till the wedding! It will be epic!
