More than just a bridals shoot

As a photographer, whether you are shooting bridals, engagement pictures, weddings, families etc, inspiration can come from anywhere. The key, truly, is to be open when inspiration presents itself. For example, when Abby contacted me about bridals, and subsequently her wedding, I never went to the shoot anticipating to take one of those career shots. Sure, I love capturing amazing images for my brides. And I strive for every shoot to have an element to it that allows the subject’s personality to show through. But when you pair magic civil twilight lighting, with a radiant bride, and an antique camera, this shoot took on another feel altogether. I found myself shooting the new cover image for Imagine That Pix. The shot. Not just a shot. No, I mean THE Imagine That Pix shot.

Photographing Photographers

The beauty of this shoot included that I was getting to photograph an up and coming photographer. I got to talk shop the entire shoot with someone who knew what I was talking about, bouncing ideas off one another. It was a real delight! Abby has a joy that just emanates from her, and you could see just how elated she was to be engaged and to her best friend no less! It was also so much fun that her Matron of Honor came along. We of course had to snag pics of the two of them! The results were stunning, and keep me smiling every time i look at them.

Abby’s dress is from David’s Bridal. She supplied the incredible camera for the main shots, and the venue we selected was McGovern Centennial Gardens. If you are in the Museum District, you have to go check this place out. It is absolutely amazing! And thank you to all three of you lovelies who attended. All of you made my day!!
