Perfect. Romantic. Sunset Engagement. Lighting!

I genuinely don’t even know where to begin with the lighting for this shoot. For starters, we chose a sunset engagement session, specifically for the perfect lighting. Only this particular day, the venue we used had frozen. Here in Texas, that’s a rare thing. Pecan Springs is a gorgeous location, and somehow, it was even more beautiful with the icicles hanging from the fountain and bridge. And without a shadow of a doubt, having to very patient, very laid back people was crucial to this being successful.  Alyson and I had been kicking ideas around for some time before this shoot, and it came together flawlessly!

A little you, a little me, a little us

Quite possibly my favorite aspect to this shoot was the specific things that our couple brought. The wood plaque with their date on it is one they made. The darling wrap in the bed of his truck? Theirs too. but my absolute favorite is the album cover, where the simple joys are captured in the fact that their heads together make a heart. I absolutely cannot wait for the wedding, as this is going to be one for the books! Something equally to note: the more fun you are willing to have on your shoot, the more likely we are to get images that show your joy, your love, and your laughter naturally. Alyson and John joked, laughed, and cut up throughout the shoot. We tried things that sounded like they would look good and to our amazement some really did. Others were the fodder for the next really good laugh. Moral to the story? Forget the camera is there, and be silly. Be in love. And most of all, enjoy!
