The location for this look

Bride Lauren volunteered to be my model for a bridal session in a couple spots out in Austin, Texas. I have had so much interest coming out of Austin, that I wanted to showcase some of my favorite venues out there. The city has its own vibe that is artsy and laid back. It’s perfect for bridal sessions, weddings, engagements etc. In today’s shoot, we are at Mayfield Park. Mayfield is, hands down, my happy place. I cannot go to Austin without stopping there. From the sprawling gardens to the peacocks roaming the property, Mayfield is enchantment at its finest. It is perfect for any bride! Did I mention the peacocks? These magnificent, and loud birds roam the grounds. They often feel the need to get their own action at the shoots, and join our models. Be prepared to do a lot of walking though, if you want to replicate this shoot. Lots of the images were at the end of a hike that included a bit of rock climbing.

The complete package

Lauren and I decided to go very natural and very simple for her hair and makeup. For starters, it is extremely hot outside in Texas, especially in the summer. The last thing you will want is to go in full makeup. These were shot in June. Her Maggie Sottero gown has layers upon layers…upon layers of lace and fabric. I for one am a huge Maggie Sottero fan. Inevitably, every time a bride makes me gasp, it’s a Maggie. So, kudos to her for stealing my breath on numerous occasions. Plus, with the session being fully outside, natural is just the way to go. We walked the grounds, then took a hike back into the trails. Getting lost back here is a joy. The tranquil solitude that envelopes you really allows you to feel the moment. We took these close to sunset, just to give you a timeframe on when. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Are you ready for your own session out here? Contact me and let’s do this!!!
